Party Girls on the Go!

Hey everyone! We just started the first leg of our crazy nine week tour (which ends in NYC on Halloween). These next few weeks we will be joined by our brothers, the Beets, on what we've named the Nightmare of Sound tour. Last night was our kickoff show in Brooklyn at Death by Audio.

Cassie made new shirts for this tour.

We have our Moped Girls 7"s, WFMU LPs, The World's Lousy comps, tote bags, pins, and soon (Sept. 8th) our new album, Everything Goes Wrong, on vinyl and CD.

We played with Real Estate, Best Fwends, and the Beets.

New things...

Hey! Oh man, Mexico City was THE BEST. Seriously. King Khan & BBQ were amazing, Valerie is the coolest, thanks everyone for coming out and having a blast. We can't wait to go back someday!

On Wednesday, we are going to hang around NYC and watch our friends Wavves, Woods and Real Estate play at Bowery Ballroom. You should go.

We are playing with Fucked Up and Women at the Phoenix Theatre in Toronto and it's going to be awesome. You should go.

Then we are all caravan-ing down to Chicago to hang out for the entirety of Pitchfork Fest (which will be awesome, you should go.)

We will have NEW SHIRTS (!!!) with the Shangri-la's design on them that Cassie drew ( )

Records we will have: Wild Eyes 7" (reissue on Wild World), Moped Girls 7" (For Us Records), S/T LP/CD.

Home in two days!

Well everyone, our mammoth tour is pretty much over. One more show tonight at the Lexington in London then we have a couple weeks off before Pitchfork Fest. Unfortunately Katy's come down with a raging case of tonsilitis and is on all sorts of medication so we'll see how the show goes tonight. Cassie and I had to perform a stripped down campfire-y version of our songs plus a few covers (Neil Young, Wipers, Cassie's old band Bossy) without her in the Netherlands the other night as she slept off a 104 degree fever backstage. We even played the Happy Birthday song.
TIme to shower and head over to Lexington for soundcheck, see you all there!

Just some updates...

Hey! Since we started, we have been compiling a list of every show we've ever played. It is located here . We are missing some information about bands that we played with, so if you can help out, we would really appreciate it!

I don't know if you know this, but we tweet.

The Moped Girls 7" IS being repressed, don't worry! The Wild Eyes 7" WAS repressed, and is being distributed by Revolver, so go ask your local record store for a copy. If you haven't heard, our 2nd album (entitled Everything Goes Wrong) will be out on September 8th, on In The Red. The front cover is posted on our myspace.

Our tour that started sometime back in March is almost at an end, and we are both excited and sad. No shows for 2 weeks, it's nuts!

And don't worry Japan and Australia, we are looking your direction in September...

Passed Out

Katy said she needed someone who's gonna be lively to sit in the passenger seat while she drove and Ryan volunteered then promptly fell asleep. This is what he gets.

Rest of European tour leg started

Today we took the Eurostar from London to Brussels and our friend Bram picked us up. Luckily the Eurostar did not eat my ipod this time around as I kept it very close by my side. Tomorrow we pick up the van in Holland and drive to Paris, can't wait!

Right now we're sitting in Bram's living room, blogging and watching Wildboyz and Jackass with some of our Belgian friends.

I would have a bunch of totally awesome pictures if I didn't leave my phone charger behind in Manchester so I have to wait til we get back to the UK because it's (hopefully) being mailed to London. For now I only have a car charger which there isn't always enough time to get a full charge on my phone, so it's constantly dying.
All of our other pictures are on disposable cameras which may or may not be developed and scanned at the end of tour.

Our 10 days in the UK were amazing and it was so great to spend time with our friends, we're really looking forward to seeing the rest of you in Europe!
Let the fun times commence!

Tour with Male Bonding

Tour is almost to a close (the UK Male Bonding part at least). We will sorely miss our brothers - Fun Bobby, Fun Johnny (I don't think it ever stuck Robin) and Fun Kevs (sure, why not).

Some serious bonding.

Listen to Male Bonding. They're like if three dudes from Pre were obsessed with Nirvana, Blink 182, and girls made music. Actually that's exactly what they are.
They're dudes, kinda like Nodzzz, but English, and with better hair (joke).

We put a birthday cake that says "Happy 30th Birthday Michael" on our rider as a joke thinking no one will ever do it, but we got it for the first time. While it doesn't say '30th' I think it's good enough.

Budget rental sucks. They gave us a car and told us that it takes diesel and told us to make sure to fill it with diesel, they even wrote it down on a piece of paper and gave it to us. First time we go to fill it up we fill it with diesel. The engine seizes a mile down the road, it's obviously not a diesel engine. We call Budget, they call someone to come help us. We wait an hour for someone to come tell us "Yep, it's not diesel." We wait another hour to get towed. This is the view of the towing process from the tow truck. We got towed 40 minutes to the nearest Budget location (according to Budget). There is no location there. They tell us we need to get towed back to Heathrow airport where we rented the car. We tell them we are already an hour late for a show in Birmingham. They blame it on us. We cancel rental and rent from someone else. We showed up in Birmingham 5 hours after we should have.

Katy's out with Crystal Antler and us boring folk are at a Travelodge!

Big Lion sleeps tonight

Bye boys, miss you already!
